Early Language Development

At WA Speech we recognise the importance of early intervention to support young children to achieve their full potential. But how do you know if your child is experiencing speech or language delays? Remember you are the expert of your child, and your concern alone may be enough of a sign to contact a Speech Pathologist for an assessment. Research shows that early intervention is fundamental for children with communication delays and is the foundation of everything we do at WA Speech.

Early intervention combines play-based therapy with strategies to encourage language development. Children learn best when they are having fun, and our therapists will work with you and your child to target a range of skills in an enjoyable and exciting manner.

Our therapists have experience using Hanen strategies, Key Word Sign (KWS), Circle of Security Parenting and child-led therapy techniques, to target a range of skills including language, play skills, early social skills, gesture and other communication areas.
